My Video Project Checkpoint

For project 8 I am turning my previous podcast into an educational video with visual graphics and videos. My goal is to teach viewers about the dangers of phishing emails and how to prevent them. I will reuse most all of my recordings from my original podcast. Please note I have been sick this past week and did not record any A-roll recordings yet because I look ill.

My Shot List

0-8s – Intro music | Opening video visual | Created title

8-24s – Intro to email phishing | A-roll video introduction.

24-35s – What is email phishing | Recorded screen search bar video graphic

35-49s – Scammers impersonating orgs | B-roll and still image of phishing email

49-80s – Example phishing attack | Screen recorded simulated umw phishing email

80-95s – Identifying suspicious messages | Image of Phishing email with highlighted elements

95-103s -Common signs | Graphic of phishing warning signs

103-110s – Reminders | Additional warning still image

110-120s – Sign off | Closing title card video

My Project Setup

For my video project, I am using my iPhone 14 pro’s cinematography mode footage that has been slightly modified in post. This includes the footage for the intro A-roll footage and keyboard typing video. I am also using screen recordings from a Macbook for the phishing attack demonstration. captured in 16:9 and using the original podcast audio.

Visual Material

So far I have created the following visual elements:

Footage:

  • Intro and Title card video
  • Alterante Intro video
  • Screen Introduction video for “what is email phishing”
  • Cinematic keybaord typing video
  • Closing title card video
  • Image of Email Phishing Signs
  • Image of Email phising Gmail
  • Image of Types of email phising
  • Image of Email phishing

I am planning to incorperate all these visual elements into the final video.

Next Steps

For the final project, I need to simply record the A-roll footage as I have been sick and don’t look well. Once this footage is recorded, I will have all the visual elements I need and use a DAW and stitch everything together into a seamless video project, making sure to use proper captions, attribution, and a 16:9 format.
